Tanzanian drafted to the NBA

Tanzanian Hasheem Thabeet, 22,  has made history by becoming the first East African to join the lucrative American basketball league better known as the NBA. Thabeet was drafted on Thursday by Memphis Grizzlies and will now play alongside 13 other African stars in the NBA. The towering seven-foot three was drafted with the second pick of the 2009 NBA Draft to the Memphis Grizzlies.
