  • i,m new to hayfarming.i get the basic point of it.but homany square bales do u think u would get out of 30 acres?just wondering

  • @MRcubcadet107 Average around here is about 100 bales to the acre.

  • I am about to buy this 472, but the seller tells me that I can cut, and bale the same day. Is that true? Thank you.

  • @waldoarreola90 If you want your hay to mold or heat up and burn your barn down, then yes. Otherwise you Mow it down, let it dry out a few hours or a day. Then if you have a hay tedder, use it to fluff up the hay. If not rake it up into windrows and let it dry out more. Once it gets to smelling right and isn't too green and still damp, its time to bale. Also a moisture tester works too. Any question's feel free to ask.

  • do you rake this hay or just bale it after you cut it some people turn it over and let the bottom dry out there will be some green hay on the bottom but not much

  • @brian93ist First we mow it with the haybine. The next day we use our hay tedder to fluff the hay so it will dry out faster. And the third day we rake it up, let it air out a few hours then bale it.
