In 1907, Picasso created one of the world's great paintings,
Les Demoiselles d'Avignon.
Could Picasso have created another masterpiece some months earlier? One inspired by an Iberian statue he had in his possesion in 1907? --- And could he have derived this earlier masterpiece out the excitement and respect he felt toward the African masks and statues he'd seen at the Louve earlier that year, as well?
Understanding the mystical and magical properties that Picasso felt his sculptures and the masks contained, and with his believing that he might capture these sculptural and spiritual elements on his own canvas, I believe he created this, until now, hidden masterpiece.
I hope you enjoy the following video --- with appreciative eyes --- and an open mind.

My argument against the bogus Picasso claims still stand... Unless, of course, you have something insightful to add.

someone who writes "avingnon" instead of avignon shouldn't complain about misspellings (not "mis-spellings"!!) in the same sentence.

I'm sorry to undermine your claim as to this chef d'ouevre inconnu but Picasso was never an abstract expressionist. If this was painted "a few years" before L.D.d'A.you would know that Picasso's colours did not include any combination of bright green, red and white straight from the tube in a barrage of inconsequential and unrelated geometric patterns. Given your academic background I would like to see other instances of similar work to the extent you have shown preparatory sketches of Demoisel.

Maybe there are some small errors , but if you would study Picasso's work for five years you might just grasp the concept . Dan
