If its a 1983 penny or later its a zinc penny. If its a 1982 or earlier penny its a copper penny.

my friend actually owned an ace 250 until he sold is a year ago because it sucked so much because it's not only attracted to trash but also got attracted to huge amounts of iron in rocks larger then a potato which drove my friend "BAZOOKAS" (his quote) to the point of selling it for an m4 carbine airsoft and said the ace-250 a frickin waste of money and should get anything BUT the ace 250!!! so my plans are changing from ace 250 to an xterra70 :D

Nice clear video. I like your enthusiasm. It gets better. Keep hunting, and that is a powerful detector you are using. You will be digging coins at 8-9 inches deep before long. Turn your sensitivity up and your disc down and learn where the good targets id at, then dig the weak deep signals in those ranges. I am enjoying your videos, keep em coming...LaDigger

wow thanks for the great comment. i have been getteing alot of great advice now that i have switched to the new x terra 70detector. i am allways willing to try anything to get a jump on coin hunting. thanks again!

I own an X-Terra 70 as well and I can confirm that the best things I find are deep, with a fainter signal. I can skip digging all the modern coins if I want by looking at the depth indicator in Coin and Treasure mode, then switching to prospecting mode to see if the signal is faint. Also I highly recommend the 10.5'' DD 7.5 Hz for coin hunting, its amazing.

i would like to do that, but i have one problem, most parks in my area are no older then the seventies. so i can only dig what i can find. but! if i got to the hills and prospect some of the areas that go back to the gold rush days, i may find something as old as the 1800,s but i dont know. i will need to try in any case becouse you both sound really convincing. thanks for the advice!!!
