Ninpo and Taiji Quan both have roots leading back to the Daoist Hermits of the mountains of China... Just as all life leads back to a common ancestor, naming is the origin of all particular things. How wonderful!
Ninjitsu and Tai Chi arent very diffrent at all, Tai Chi is designed for combat and has worked for hundreds of years just as ninjitsu has to compare the two is kind of foolish since no martial art is superior to another, and both martial art actually utilize each other's techniques.
Ninjutsu is a collection of many different forms. it involves 9 schools which could be sub catagorised as an art within themselves. the 'foundation' if you would like of ninjutsu is from the school of gyokko ryu, which was created during the times of warring china in about the 600AD. it is also said it was created by a princess in the chinese imperial court, who utalised precise strikes to vital targets making strength nothing and technique everything. I practice Ninjutsu, very interesting art.
I train in Bujinkan Ninjutsu, and it is not attacking. it is much in the same of utalising your enemys advantages and turning them into their disadvantages. a more accurate description of the combat aspect of ninjutsu (which is far from all the art is about) would be counter-attacking. a ninjutsu practitioner will never go out of their way to strike first, but rather wait for them to initiate striking and counter before they have even struck, maintaining advantage as long as possible.
What the heck is it with this NINJA vs TAI CHI crap? Those are two completely separate things!
NINJAS ARE ASSASSINS FOR GOODNESS SAKE! TAI CHI IS A FIGHTING STYLE!
There are at least 15 different Ninpou in Ninjutsu, and only one of them have to do with combat! By the way, who cares if Ninja use "dirty tricks?" Who cares who would win?!? They're both good. Leave it at that!
Tai Chi, especially modern Tai Chi, is not designed for combat. It'c kind of self-improvement like Yoga. Don't compare it with ninja or something, they are completely different.
The master in the video is really good at the style because he is the chen;'s taichi representative~ I just love to see his forms!

Actually, Taiji was designed for combat. The self improvement part was just one necessary aspect of it.
