Ken smith Pickups sample

Just got the new pickups installed yesterday took me around 7-8 hours because I had to widen my cavities, drill out for the switches so I had to remove the preamp. and rewire the bass. I tried them out at a couple rehearsals and so far I am very pleased with the sound. The bartolini's have a more natural, warm sound. The ken smith an upper mid bump and a thick bottom end that gives them their signature sound.

which brand ok pickup sounds better in your view between the Smiths and Barts? I have a Ken Smith bass and it sounds sweet and thinking about doing a new custom bass project with bart pickups and aguilar obp3 pre.

@mac2damax Kind of depends on personal preference. Barts to me are hit or miss. Those split coils are very nice though. The smiths offer a nice tone with a very unique character in the high end. They have more of a burp than a splat that is assosiated with fenders.

Sweet Modification, I want to try that Set-up on my Yamaha RBX 6JM , but i cant seem to find the pickups ! any advise ?
