THE WEDDING RAPPER

A surprise wedding gift for my sister and her fiancé!! I wrote the song 3 days before and after a few drinks, rocked the shit out of that microphone! I was a little nervous at first and kind of screwed up the beginning but after a few bars it was all good lol. Congratulations again Melissa & Ian!

let me take you back right to the beginning
and tell you the story of how melissa met ian/

it all started at high school in grade 9
they sat in the same math class on opposite sides/

halfway through the year they went through a seatchange
melissa sat behind him and found out his name/

and nothing else mattered, she was head over heels an'
all that she knew is that she wanted to be with ian/

a few months went by and they started talking
thats when melissa went and pulled a sadie hawkins/

she wanted to go and ask ian to the dance
but she wasn't sure if he had made any plans/

so she decided to call him at home
really really nervous when she picked up the phone/

he said yes and they went to the dance
it was the start of a ten year romance/

then after a few months they decided to split
ian was upset, Melissa threw a fit/

and every relationship has it's peaks and it's pits
a small setback in a strong companionship/

a few months later, maybe a little more
melissa was working at the pier one store/

ben arrived driving his toyota Rav4
ian was on the other side of the passenger door/

they met up with some friends at the baseball diamond
ian asked melissa if she would walk beside him/

she agreed even though the weather was cool
then they walked up to the community pool/

and just like a movie it started to rain
as they made up and got back together again/

and man, do i really have to explain?
after more than a decade these two know how to sustain/

fast forward a few years, they're both in college
took as break from each other to focus on knowledge/

but it didn't matter where or matter what time
they both had each other stuck in each others minds/

met other people to see what it was like
different faces, different places, different names, different types/

dated other people, one after the other
thats when they realized all they needed was each other/

so now they're together 10 years and countin
ian took melissa on a trip to blue mountain/

the whole time up there he had her quessin
will this be the weekend when he pops the question?/

so after dinner they took a ride in the car
up to the top of the mountain to look at the stars/

and the whole time even though the weather was freezing
melissa was sitting on the edge of her seat and/

when ian finally got down on one knee
she jumped up and sceamed "oh my god i can't believe it!"/

and that the end of my story thats where ima leave it and
the next chapters of their life are yet to be written/

and when you have kids just bring em to me
so their uncle can take them out for stawberry ice cream/

the next thing i'll say i wanna make it clear
your family and your friends will always be here/
