According certain beliefs in Cambodia, any disability is the result of a bad karma due to bad actions in a previous life. The NGO Aide et Action runs a project which aims at changing people's behavoiurs and mentalitites and integrate deaf and blind children into society. Through education, Aide et Action fights against exclusion and discrimination.

  • At time i think too much religion stand in the way of progress.People think only of the obstacles instead of possibilities. We must teach our children possibilities, encourage them to overcome their disabilities and challenges.Budhism of all should teach compassion, understanding, patience and encourge the children to reach their boundless potential.....it's away out of suffering and neglect.Teach them to be independent and self sufficient,to have dignity for themself and others..

  • Deaf people are just as normal as anybody else...they are very capable, once they know how to communicate with gestures, they're no longer deem a disable or a handicap.None of us are completely perfect,we all have flaws one way or another.Do not talk about the sins of other unless you yourself are completely sinless. That also goese for monks and holy men.Being deaf is not a sin or bad karma from past life..i totally disagree with the common believes...

  • I once saw a deaf couple fought each other at a noodle house, they were gesturing all kind of insults at each other, all the sudden the deaf lady stood up and slapped her deaf husband, followed by the middle fingers in his face. She grabbed her purse and stormed out the noodle house. The water spilled all over the table,i walked over to their table and hand the deaf husband a hankerchief,we shooked hand.He was trying to tell me something in gestures,i pat his shoulder and said " I know pal ".

  • Don't get Soeur Ella upset, she's not afraid to use the naughty fingers.....

  • In the last scene, a little boy writes on his tablet the word "sab-baay" = happy.
