my cat will do this after he gets scared and runs,not always but that gets him going. I think he developed it because when he was a kitten he didn't have it, or even a young cat he didn't have it.

we have the SAME type of cat. her name is lacie.. but she is extremely over weight. Her and my other cat is doing the same thing. :(

I got a good vacuum cleaner and cleaned everywhere the cat goes, under beds and or on top of furniture. Also my boy likes to really dig in his litter and after he poops I chase him out if I can then vacuum the bathroom. I am not crazy and since doing this he is 99.7% better. The dust especially cat litter did not CAUSE the asthma but I feel it irritates and starts the attack. No attacks for over 90 days and no meds involved..
