You Belong With Me Chapter 7

"Miley called me saying she wanted to see me." He kept watching the road.
"And?" I was getting nervous about this.
"I agreed to hang out." He glanced at me.
"Just tell me the whole God damn thing!" I raised my voice a bit.
"I went to her house to hang out 'cause my mom wouldn't allow her to come to our house. So we were just sitting in her living room watching TV and I asked where her family was 'cause I hadn't

seen them all night. She told me they went out to visit friends, but she said everyone would be here so something was wrong with that. Like five minutes later she crawls to my side of the couch,

puts my arm around her and nestles into it. I tried to take my arm out of it but right then and there she kissed me. Not a peck, it was like when you're madly in love with somebody. I jumped up

and backed away and then she told me she loved me. I then just walked out. Now she won't stop calling, texting, skyping, etc. It's really annoying."
"Did you ever tell Selena? 'Cause I know you never told me." I said sternly and shocked at what happened.
"No, I thought it would just blow over. Like Miley was having a small phase, but no she keeps going." His eyes had a sad look to them.
"How did Selena find out?" I asked.
"Well she saw Miley the other day and apparently Miley asked her how I was holding up and why I wouldn't talk to her. Then she was with me and I got a text from her and Selena read it, being a

little snoopy bitch..." He looked into his rearview mirror.
"What did it say?" I couldn't keep my eyes off of him.
We entered our neighborhood, but still had a little ways to go because we were in the back.
"It said 'Nick why won't you talk to me? Is it because I kissed you? Did I freak you out?' and Selena just blew up." He drove with one hand on the wheel and the other on his seat.
I was so tempted to hold his hand, but I knew he'd reject it.
"Nick, it'll be alright. I mean just tell Miley to go away and do something really romantic for Selena." I didn't want him to go back to Selena but it's what he wants to hear.
"No, I'm not going back to Sel. She always gets mad at me and I'm sick of it. Everything I do isn't right for her. She doesn't get me, she doesn't know me, she doesn't interest me..." I saw his

hand move slightly towards me, then move back to his seat.
We pulled up to his house, "Well that's good that you've realized this."
He turned the engine off, "I know you've hated her for awhile, so I'm surprised you're not jumping for joy or something." He smiled.
"Well, I know this is hard for you right now. And instead of unleashing my happiness, I'm being your friend right now, just trying to help you get through this." I smiled.
He smiled back at me, "Thanks Hayden. You've helped, all this time you've been a great help."
He was looking right into my eyes and I was looking straight in his. There was so much emotion there, I could just look into them forever.
"I guess we do have school tomorrow and a lot of homework to do." He still didn't look away.
"Yeah, you're right." I could never pull myself away from him.
Then there was a huge thud on the hood of the car and we both looked.
"Joe! Get off my car!" Nick yelled at him.
I could hear Joe's laugh booming on the hood. He rolled over onto his back and just laid there.
"God damn Joe..." Nick muttered as he climbed out of his car and pushed Joe off the car.
I was just laughing while getting my bag together and getting out of the car.
Nick saw me laughing and started laughing also, he kept watching me, too.
"Jeez Nick, you're such a jerk." Joe spit out at Nick jokingly.
"You know what Joe..." Nick ran to the otherside of the car and tackled Joe playfully.
"Haha, alright. I'm just going to leave you two with what you're doing. Adios." I walked into my house.

I was playing the drums when I heard Nick yelling out his window.
"Hayden!"
"Oh hey. What's up?" I stopped playing the drums and sat at my window.
"I just wanted to let you know that I think you need to stop playing the drums." He smiled a brilliant smile.
"Haha fine. I'll do my homework. It sounds so lame." I rolled my eyes and grabbed my stuff.
"Good 'cause I need some help with mine." He laughed.
"Nick are you okay?" I asked, faking concern.
"Yeah, why?" He looked confused.
"Because you're laughing and beaming a smile."
He laughed at that, "Yeah, I just feel much better without Selena."
I loved hearing that.
