Here's how your science news sausage gets made: research is done, journalist reports the opposite, other journalists reprint without checking the facts.

  • Love the vlog. Random off-topic question...where did you get the shirt?

  • @SparkyValentine86 Hi, thanks! The link to buy the shirt is in the description (though the exact color isn't offered anymore, sadly).

  • Great report Rebecca! Now go buy a light kit :)

  • Happy to buy a light kit, as soon as someone starts paying me serious money to do YouTube videos!

  • So those ads I'm seeing are for google's benefit alone? Even the one that started playing along the bottom of your video?

PS: It's a blonde woman in a bikini; thank you google ads.

  • I get approx. two pence every time someone clicks one of those. And most are so awful that no one ever actually clicks them, so, yeah. Hence, the "serious money" part of my response!

  • The worst part about the bad science reporting is that it leads to public mistrust... of science! But it should lead to public mistrust of the media, and yet it doesn't. Why?!

Also, I thought redheads were the warrior women. At least that's my anecdotal experience.

  • love the shirt!

  • Getting angry makes you beautiful.

But alas I once had a neighbor who was overweight, alchoholic, undereducated who was alway yelling at her unemployed boyfriend or at her underachieving potato chip eating delinquent spawns. So that kills that hypothesis.

  • I don't know that the UCSB researchers contributed nothing to that article.

  • Wow, UCSB propaganda in full effect. Never would have thought it would have come from University quite like that.

  • For some reason this is really easy to masturbate to.

  • Trust me getting exasperated at BBC news can become a chronic illness. Watch channel 4 news instead, although that itself is dumbing down at an alarming rate.

  • This may be related in a tangental fashion but I'm a little frustrated with the views that argue women are being empowered by these movie roles depicting strong women such as Tomb Raider, Kill Bill, etc. and that these films are progressive in the sense that they transcend gender rolls. But, these 'warrior women' are still beautiful in a very traditional way, they perpetuate heteronormativity, and they are sexualized characters wearing skimpy clothes. They'e sill made into an image.

  • Does it really bother you that much...your still a brunette lesbian warrior princess to me sugar tits.

  • None of this addresses the question of gingers not having souls.

  • off with her top!

  • well when i worked out 2-3 hours a day for 3 years, i did get stronger but did not get more aggressive or entitled, i just felt better and life was easier and people treated me better.

so i think the magnitude of the effect is very slight when it comes to a sense of entitlement compared to the other positive benefits of working out and increasing physical strength.

    i HATE qualitative studies!!!
