Tasty Fish caught at the San Marcos River

Spoke to a gentleman on the river who caught these three fish using "shad" for bait. Said he caught them just south of Sewell Park off to the right of the river in the area not bothered by tubers or boaters.

Actually the reason for their low numbers is due to the introduction of the smallmouth into the river which breeds and hybridizes with them. Fishing is the way the Guadalupe Bass was discovered and fishermen's fee's are what help protect them through conservation of habitat. Always CATCH, PHOTO, AND RELEASE!
