A video showing some techniques I regularly use while carving. I made this video in response to lots of questions I get concerning knife techniques and questions asking "How do I get started?" I hope this helps some folks out!

  • I must say I wish I had this instructional video when I was a kid. :))

Really calm. I have some experience with knives already, but I do think this is a good exercise to start out with and a good thing to do maybe to chill.

    :)

  • @SpartanJohns Thanks man! Carving is very relaxing and stimulating.

  • good to see a sensible approach to using a knife, it seems the large part of knife use on YT is to baton wood and nothing more .. thanks for sharing

  • @oldguy537 That has a lot to do with the person. Beware of the KA-BAR welding assault pack wearing Rambo types. They are good people but usually lack something that they make up by chopping wood with their knives. Everyone has their place, I suppose.

  • Great stuff, thanks for sharing!

  • @chaulsin Thanks for watching!

  • Cool video Dusty.

  • This is a great video....thanks

  • Nice vid man . i enjoyed it very much :)

  • That was well thought out and nicely presented. It's nice to see carving techniques and not hammering a knife through wood with a baton....Dash

  • @IHatchetJack I use a Ka-bar :P Used a clipper, BCNW 01, woodlore, but i just love my Ka-bar USN mk1.

  • Great video Dusty. Great tutorial.

    Nate

  • The 2nd method is like using a draw knife, which looks dangerous but isn't. However, that knife technique probably isn't an option for large busted women.
