@TangomanX2008 Yes, I come from a culture where dance and song express everything, in almost any setting. Each dance means different things. You use dance to attract a mate, call in fertility, celebrate the seasons, express rage and joy. North America is so much about "performing" for others, rather than expressing and relating.

Ohhh Carlos Gardel? I apologize if I'm wrong. My Mom used to hear his music. I'm from Puerto Rico. Beautiful. My favorite is Caminito.

Hola Nabucco2008..Well "Hola" is one of my limited Spanish words... XD
But I looked up most of words of your comment and I think I understand what you said....
Con passion y como nadie(with passion and like no one else? maybe?)...
Maybe that's what I should do when I do my Flamenco....
Muchas Gracias :D

part of the issue has to do with the point of dancing. From what I understand, Tango is Argentine society is something you can do socially, in a party, special events, at a bar. Its part of how you socialize. In the States, dancing is not for socializing, its usually for performance or for a competition. That pretty much the case with any Latin American dance, but I think its more so with the Tango.

I agree and I much prefer the Argentinian tango to standard Tango. It's far more fluid, inventive and passionate.

It seems that dancers from Argentina don't dance as "hard" as the dancers from US. It's hard to explain.....even the steps are the same, the feelings are totally different...intersting!!
