  • anglo irish bank obviously can't pay. if ireland walks away from this debt we would never be seen worthy of investment again. would you let a shoplifter back into your store? we've been using european grants for years and the bankers have frittered it away, now they're just asking where it is now. we should be aiming our cannons at those responsible, not leaving a financially unstable europe in the lurch. i just believe we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot, sorry about it

  • @cannonfodderjops You seem confused. This is not Irelands debt,ie,not that of the sovereign Irish people. If we lived in a sane world there would be no need for talk of walking away as Anglo and all other private, run for profit enterprises would simply fail or thrive based on their decisions. If Anglo was a state operated affair you might have a point but it wants so you don't.

  • Eh...are we meant to take eveything said in this video as true because robots say it? Even they've got an agenda you know...

  • @jlpagano So...which parts are lies then?

  • Ireland is rich but its still a small country. That's why they aren't worried about it in world terms, plus Ireland would probably take up the British pound over the Irish punt because a lot of its trade is with Britain or it will just be the same value in pence and currency to the British pound.

  • no hat happen was that the banks are irish if they gambled in the derivatives market then the loses are for the ppl, the gov is the people... or else the banks could just go under, but irish where screwed either way they loaned too much and the gov gambled the cash to make cash to keep the economy going to keep jobs flip houses keep economy going, irish economy is weak, no sov. real industry like greek portuguese etc

  • "Force the new guh-vern-ment to tell the ECB and the IMF to stick their bailout where the sun doesn't shine"

Did ya get that Enda ???

Ah brilliant ... out of the mouths of robots ... that's fucking class !!

  • why isnt the irish going after the persons who gambled all this money^? go after them, show they cant get away with this...

  • @ruthlesstruthdotcom I hear ya, shocking stuff.

  • @Notofagus25 thats exactly what I was saying, German banks left themselves exposed to Irish banks and Fianna Fail have decided to attach our sovereign debt to the Irish banks debt

  • @DescartesDooley I am confused whoes debt is it then? Did the 'Irish', be it government, banks and private people, not take/borrow this money in the first place?

  • Feel like contributing to the bonuses of fat AIB executives? AIB didn't even contest the case in court because they knew that we, the mug tax-payers would pick up the bill. And the interest. Join this Facebook group: Stop-the-40m-bonuses-or-Im-closing-my-AIB-account
