  • Wagner was a genius. I think its a good interpretation.

  • Fantastic even after all these years. The voice, the look, the orchestra all meld to make this a super production. All you armchair critics should try doing it sometime.

  • @jorfel49 Waltraud Meier is a lyric mezzo and has no business singing this repertoire. As for Nina Stemme, I'll wait until I hear her live...

  • @michonnetsu I have just come back from David McVicar's rendition of Wagner's Götterdämmerung, I'm not expert but I think she was truly great as Brünnhilde, the best I've seen and heard in the decade.

  • She is not in the Nina Stemme/Waltraud Meier League, but she she does a pretty decent job nonetheless.

Sometimes having a huge voice is not enough...

  • jjj

  • Magnifique Michelle Je le savais....... Bises

  • She is like most of the Isoldes are these years: She is OK, the voice is pretty unspectacular, but she doesn't die on stage because of the challenges, and she gets good jobs because there are not too many better sopranos around. Those who really like her should check the really important sopranos of the past that you find at youtube and elsewhere to get an idea what Isolde is all about!
