Rare 8mm film of Secretariat at Belmont. This footage does not appear to be the famouse final leg of the Triple Crown but soon after that...there is a newspaper headline showing "Secretariat Wins".
This clip shows some racing as well as some off track footage...
I'm sorry, this one just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. i have no idea who's who. Or what they're doing.

Hey there :) The footage of specific races in this video is as follows: There's unknown turf race at the beginning that the big guy wasn't in. There's the start and end of the 1973 Belmont, and then the Man o' War, his first race on turf.

Sitting on the rail at the 73 Belmont?! You gotta be kidding me!!! This is awesome stuff! There has to be a lot of amateur pics & videos out there. I just hope it'll start coming out of the woodwork!

The footage at the 2:40 mark is indeed the 1973 Belmont. I was able to pinpoint it due to the number of horses in the field and the corresponding saddlecloth numbers. The last race in this piece is the Man o'War. I was able to determine it due to the turf course and the saddlecloth numbers. This is a great find!

Very cool. Secretariat raced at Belmont prior to the famous 73 Belmont Stakes races. And did several work-outs there. My guess is much of the footage is from 72
