Throughout his extraordinary career, Academy Award-wining director Martin Scorsese has brought his unique vision and dazzling gifts to life in a series of unforgettable films. This holiday season the legendary storyteller invites you to join him on a thrilling journey to a magical world with his first-ever 3-D film, based on Brian Selznick's award-winning, imaginative New York Times best-seller, "The Invention of Hugo Cabret." Hugo is the astonishing adventure of a wily and resourceful boy whose quest to unlock a secret left to him by his father will transform Hugo and all those around him, and reveal a safe and loving place he can call home. -- (C) Paramount

  • God damn it youngturks, hire me! I'll be the best intern. I've got 4 years of experience, studying and making films. This shit is so amateur, a camera has not been white balanced, the position of the hosts is terrible - hire me!!

  • please go back to the panel setup, this is bad.

  • @drewtehpwn No, it isn't... and the fact that you think that show that YOU are the one who doesn't know anything about cinema. It is, at best, a cute film... a long, boring and bland cute film...

  • @lukebccb wow... get a grip buddy.

  • @toronto1965 I'll make it even more simple to you: No, it is NOT the best film of the year... this is overrated crap! Boring, generic and soooooo predictable (and I usually don't mind that, but the film is so uninteresting and bland that I just noticed how predictable it was) The worst thing that the genius that is Scorsese has EVER made. Period.

  • For a show that reviews movies, this is some AWFUL setup/production.

I mean, seriously, guys? What's going on with the white balance in one of the cameras? It's so off that it looks as though there's a blue filter/glass in front of the camera.

And what's with the hosts positions? This is no subtle thing, it's very annoying and amateur.

  • @kainedamo Seriously, I don't even have film experience but this awful.

  • this film is so wildly overrated! I think critics felt like they HAD to like it because it is Scorsese's first animated feature and because the film is obviously a love letter to movies. I don't know what kid would like this to be completely honest.

  • @modplugrad I think the point was they give a hyped up popular revival of an old cultural icon in the form of a 2-hour thin plotted a higher rating a movie which actually tries to create an interesting and creative plot with more than just explosions.

  • I had the no idea the novel was about George Méliès until I looked up what the film was about, and I have a real love for early cinema and the like, now I'll definitely check out the book and the movie.

  • Surprised they didn't mention the acting of the kids more, particularly Hugo, he was brilliant
