The Mountain Man takes a cab to the Amberwood Center in Ashland,Ohio three days a week and devotes himself to spreading his love of Jesus Christ by waving, singing Christmas Carols, praying with people and blessing drivers with a hearty Merry Christmas. He used to stand in front of WalMart but was asked to leave because a couple people were offended.
The merchants on the other side of the parking lot told the Mountain Man he was welcome to stand in front of their businesses and sing carols and wish people Merry Christmas. Doughnut Connect has been especially gracious. They welcomed him to stand in front of their business and share his special message of love with motorists and passersby. For some people, Jesus is still the reason for the season.
Pastor Jeff Scott at Saint Michael Lutheran Church spent time with the Mountain Man recently and found the Mountain Man to be a devout man of Christian Faith. "He is an angel sent from God. He offended people of Walmart because he said such things as "Merry Christmas and God Bless you." Even if Walmart rejects him, we are pleased to welcome him to our church and worship with us this Christmas eve." We are sure his presence will be a real blessing to us all.
A couple thousand years ago, a young couple walked from their home to Bethlehem to be registered for the census. The mother was heavy with child. When they arrived in Bethlehem, there was no room for the young couple at the inn. Mary and Joseph were without a home that night in which they could give birth to their child. The couple was offered a place of rest out in the stable. God chose a lowly place for the birth of his son so we would know that God loves us all.
As we welcome the Mountain Man into our hearts this season, remember the humble birth of our savior, born in a stable and laid in a manger because there was no room for him at the inn. Make room in your hearts for the Mountain Man this Christmas.
He was asked to stay away from Wal*Mart because he was weirding people out. When people go to shop, they don't want to be accosted by someone outside the door, or preached to. It doesn't matter if he is asking for money or not, they just want to go to the store, be anonymous, get their items and leave. I for one do not care, because I do not shop at Wal*Mart anyway, and I am a Christian. I, however, understand completely why people would complain.
And as for nuts, his new hat is a jester hat

A great man of God. He lives sincerely, is kind to others and lives in the spirit. Such as he are becoming all too rare these days.

autorocks99: I do live in Ashland and have business dealings with him. How many men claim to be a man of god and they are either evil or nuts. Name one person he has ever given any of the money that has been given to him? He claims to be beaten up on a weekly basis, but why no police report?
