  • An objective comparison of the synthesizers would be more helpful than arbitrarily stating that one 'smokes' the other. You may start by comparing the structures of the synths or their sonic idiosyncrasies. Referring to the Alesis as a toy only underscores your lack of understanding of it and whatever biases you may have.

  • Alesis should pay you commission mate, cos you've sold me!

  • hahaha, I e-mailed them asking about that but they said there was nothing to do about it. I was trying to get an andromeda or at least a fusion out of them. Its a great synth though wether you are playing presets or programming. Cheers

  • It's a synthesizer, not a Casiotone. Program it.

That's what those knobs are for.

  • This absolutely beautiful. The soundscape you create just fills my mind.

  • nice sound design!

Question on the Ion, can you pla audio e.g. a cd player through the audio on and play over the top, so you have in effect a backgin track to play with?

And also I know theres no usb, but is there a software editor for the micron at all?

  • Shut up and let the kid play!

I am looking for a small keyboard that I can layer sequences with, to make simple songs (I am a hobbyist, and a noob, not really a muscian). The Micron and the MicroQ have both caught my interest. I know the Micron has a sequencer, but I cannot determine if the MicroQ does as well. I downloaded the manual, and it's not obvious.

I could buy a Micron now, or not buy it, and save up for the MIcroQ (used). Can you make any recommendations?

  • @Gtechture Strangely, I bought my micron when a Micro Q I ordered from eBay ended up being DOA. The micron is not a toy, it is a powerful and extremely programmable synthesizer!

  • Im so gonna buy a micron and use my bcr2000 to controll it.

  • Got MicroKorg 1st, to accompany my Roland D2 and me playing Native American Flutes and vocals. Hard for me to program. (I'm technically challenged).

Just purchased Micron, and what a breeze, and now I've opened the manual. I feel free in saying that with my limited experience, the Micron "smokes" the Korg, though I'm sure in more capable hands such as yours, the Korg might be quite wicked. Namaste, vanopelli

  • I have a blofeld about 2 weeks, great machine but no multi sounds or combinations from factory. Where to find sounds for this "beast". Neither waldorf have a decent suport for machine.

  • Nice work!
