The Basics of Good Economics - Framing the Issues Right
Economics is often perceived as something that only people with advanced degrees in the field can and should understand, but economic arguments are often used in confusing or misleading ways in policy debates and in the media. This session will provide an introduction to people that want to be able to tell fact from fiction in discussions about the economy. Some of the topics that will be covered are:
1. Getting the numbers right - Millions, billions, and trillions, the difference is in the context
2. A rising stock market - As good for the economy as rising corn prices
3. Name-calling - How to fight back (hint: recognition is the first step - key words, "protectionist," "free trade," "double taxation," "takings").

Sorry, I misspelled a word in my previous reply, it's "issues" not "issued."

Hello. I know it's been two years since you posted this comment and maybe you already found what you were looking for but just in case, the full video of Dr. Baker's presentation is in Google Videos. To access it you'll have to create a Google account, I think. In Google type "CEPR Seminar 1: The Basics of Good Economics-Framing the Issued Right." Good luck.

Dean Baker is one of the best economist out there.
Which is why the corporate media does not endorse him

What is the name of this video on the CEPR site? I went to the site, clicked on TV/Video, but this exact title does not appear. I'd like to watch the rest of Mr. Baker's talk here.
