Its just a well and at least its casing looks good from the top. You shouldn't be dumping rocks down it, seriously! Cover it up securely. Abandoned wells can contaminate the water table that everyones' wells draw from in that area. I most areas, property owners are legally responsible for sealing abandoned wells
