Gang Graffiti Explained

During a Laneway Revitalization project some gang graffiti was encountered and replaced with vibrant art work.

The event organizer is a Toronto Police Officer who volunteers for the not for profit organization-The Ontario Gang Investigators Association. ONGIA's motto is "Learn, Share, Stay Safe"

The organizations above are comprised of sworn members of all areas of law enforcement who network regularly in the mandate of the prevention, intervention and suppression of criminal street gangs.

Gangs use fear and intimidation as a way to suppress people who wish to stand up against their illegal activities in any area.
