I have a very smart son! I am so proud of you! You even taught the old mom something new! If I ever get to go camping again I will definitely make one of these!

Another great video
And did I see your newly made sheath?
How's it working out?

Great video, by the way what was the maximum temp it can produce and for how long this buddy burner lasts? Cheers!

Great idea! Thanks.

Nice one bro!

Do these work well in low temps??

I like the time-lapse so you don't have repetitive footage.
I remember using this stove when I was a kid.

Excellent instructional video BackwoodsUncleBub! I learned a lot, and plan to make me one of those! Have you done a boil test with it? Be interested in how fast it boils.

@Wintertrekker I have not done the standard 2 c. of water boil time test. However, I have used it a lot and it boils within 5-6 minutes. I actually use that very Buddy Burner near the end of my "Hiking the Tennessee River Gorge Trail With the TRGT". It brought 1 1/2 L. of water to a boil in my German Mess Kit in about 15-17 minutes, for our soup on that 40°F day! Not bad for wax and cardboard in a can! :-)

@huguenot67,
Yeah, they work fine in cold weather. No trouble getting it lit or keeping it going.It is basically a short, fat candle with cardboard as a wick. As long as you can light a candle in the cold weather, you'll be able to light the buddy burner. :-)
