This was our first job together, I was in school at Art Center in Pasadena when a friend working on the project called and said the prop guy just brought the Director a Bolex but it was missing pieces, I know you know this stuff, can you please come by and talk to him? Thats how it started. I checked a Bolex out of the issue room with the instruction manual, I read that thing from end to end, it was actually a pretty simple camera, thats the very camera you see being used in the commercial. We met early one morning in a small house in west hollywood, I brought the Bolex, a Graphflex 4x5 with a polaroid and film back, an old retina rangefinder, and my mamiya rz67, I've still got the mamiya. We sat out back and made polaroids with the graphlex, sooo I said it sounds like a fun project, can I come too? The next thing I knew I was on board. 10 days traveling the West, I brought all the cameras and we used them all. Check out the animation stills, I even did some with the Mamiya, the title credits were done in open light on my garage door, we were experimenting a bunch, and it constantly paid off.
Fantastic! I'm an alum of Art Center (FILM - graduated Dec. '04). Keep up the great work!....
