Perhaps the most venemous mouth in the snake family belongs to the Australian Death Adder. A pioneer of 'milking" some of the world's most deadly snakes is Australian Naturalist David Fleay . Lex Halliday who pioneered the art of nature documentaries in Australia made a series of films around this world famed naturalist. The Death Adder film narration is by australian actor Alistair Duncan. The film print is a digital transfer and considering it was made in the early sixties this 10 minute programme remains in excellent condition.
The main star is the snake itself...nature has provided the death adder with both disguise and subterfuge......the information in this film is as valid today as it was back then.
Taking venom from such a deadly critter is life threatening....the snakes venom is used to create "anti-venene" so victims of Death Adder snake bite can have a chance of recovery.

  • This is Awesome. However, just being a bit nit piky. In your description you use the word 'poison' two or three times.

Poison can be administered through oral means. Venom has to be intravenous (Directly into the blood stream).

You can drink Venom and it will digest with no affects, but poison will harm you.

I know it's only a small thing but it's a common mistake that would be good to rectify. Especially because lots of herpers will watch this video.

    Thanks again.

thank you so much for pointing this out...common useage was initially the reason for "Poison" instead of "Venom"...however it has been changed ......your comment is most appreciated.

  • Hi.. Regards to the Speaker on this video, I am Scotty from urbanfront records and was wondering if we could use parts of your vocals in a dnb track we wish to release.. if you can email me at usprecords@live.co.uk i will send you a copy of the track :) thanks and hope we can do this..

  • @jigglestumps I am the same way.

  • i loved this video, it helped me alot on my research paper lol :)

  • @favenchi No worries. Hope I wasn't being too pedantic. Thanks again for, what I think, is one of the best snake videos on youtube. I love it...

  • That seems to be a careless way to release the adders from the bag. What if some or all of them make a break for it? Why not dump them into the entrance? Or make hole on top of the den so you can release the snakes into the den directly?

The kid with the barefoot easily could have been bitten too.
