  • @Thar20 dived in the glorification of "subversive culture" or "low culture" such as ethnic music, like the blues, jazz, rockn'roll and hillbilly. Flynt highly believed that these types of music contained the heart and soul of the people because they were the lowest of the low in american culture.

    Flynt was part of the underground avant-garde scene of New York in the 60s, instigated by J. Cage. The man's earlier works dealt with the dissolution of systems of power. He even came up with "a-cognitive culture" - a culture untainted by outside influence. Flynt took his ideals to the extreme later on in his career and sought to destroy all serious art, museums, etc....and

  • Ya'll can call me a hater, but I guess I just don't understand this guy's music. All of his music annoys me like nothing else. In my opinion he can't sing to save his life. He lacks pitch and organization in his songs, and I am disgusted by what he did to the Marine's Hymn.
