Following the return of 25 students and 3 teachers from an intensive month-long YLP experience in Reno, Nevada, 5 YLP participants appeared on Algerian TV to talk about the program. While a documentary film produced entirely by the students played in the background, the participants shared stories of their time in the U.S., and described the benefits they received through intensive English language learning, leadership and civic engagement exercises, and diversity training. The students were exemplary "Junior Ambassadors", demonstrating the importance of promoting tolerance and understanding of other people, and encouraging future participation in this annual program open to all youth across Algeria.

The purpose of this programme is to create a selection of young Algerians who are influenced by US culture to occupy important poitions in the Algerian society and government and LEAD us towards a westernised society. Yaw FAQO, the US is trying to have a foot in Algeria and the way they do it is via future generations. But let's be clear, we are IMAZIGHEN, neither French nor American
