Peace, 2008 at SIDESHOW GALLERY

James Kalm documents the installation of the seventh annual "Peace" exhibition. Begun as a Christmas show with a few dozen Williamsburg artists, this renowned show has taken on a life of its own, and is perhaps the largest yearly open-call exhibition in New York City. This two part program attempts to present a small but vital portion of the Williamsburg scene with over forty-five cameo appearances by the participants. If you living in Williamsburg and if you are an artist you like this show, this is a good event.

The night of the opening Williamsburg was almost desert, all the people went to Sideshow Gallery.

Very nice format and people. If only the camera could focus quicker -- all the way through this I wanted to grab your shoulders and let the image settle. Great stuff. 300 brave people.
