Eric Galvez Victories of Spirit award winner 2008

What happens when a physical therapist suffers from a brain tumor? He achieves maximum benefit from his rehab program and goes on to raise funds for the National Brain Tumor Foundation, establishes www.masskickers.com as an information resource, and writes a book "Reversal: When a Therapist Becomes A Patient". In addition, Eric has written numerous articles and makes speaking appearances that benefit from both his professional training and personal journey.

  • Eric, you're the best. :)

  • TRIUMPH!!! Eric...

  • Hi Eric, I'm in Physical Therapy school and we are presenting the area of brain tumors in our neuro class; this video really brought our role as therapists home for me and the patient's road to recovery!

  • Hey Eric, as someone who recently had a meningioma removed (successfully thank God) I just want you to know that I find your courage and outlook inspiring. It's so ridiculously cliche to say this but it's true that we're not defined by our circumstances but rather the choices we make. I think your story is one more proof for the truth of that statement. Thanks for sharing and know that you are appreciated by those whose lives you've touched with your determination.

    Peace and blessings,

  • Cool! I had brain cancer 10 years ago and I'm really lucky! No recurrance and no disabilities, just a small fusiform brain aneurysm they say probably can just be watched. I do feel on a huge emotional roller coaster that is much better now and I'm doing really well but it's tricky finding people who understand the effects on the personality after surgery, chemo and radiation. It's not that I need to be understood by others, but it would be helpful to understand myself a little better!

  • God will not give us something that He knows we cannot handle... It's also Him who provides us strength; our very present help... He will never leave you nor forsake you...Keep the faith! God's mighty hand continually be upon you! :)

  • Keep fighting, Eric! You have an amazing story, bro. Mad respect.

    In Eternal Brotherhood,

  • Eric, you really are an amazing person.
