Thin objects like table and chair legs are definitely -always- prone to such hits, but I suppose the user is running the device in edge mode and in that mode, navibot seems to move from one edge to the other and hitting walls he could and would normally stop 5cms before in Auto mode. On my device on auto mode he doesn't hit walls this way. There are several precise obstacle sensors, they work well, but the device is really clever and learning the door places. If you close doors, he goes crazy :)
