It could, but I doubt it will. There's too much greed for that to happen. Also, as long as there IS a middle or upper-class (not to be confused with the seriously rich), the 'big boys' will be manipulating the market (until they can buy everything for cheap). So, people will keep putting their wealth in and 'those who manipulate the currencies and commodities/stocks' will keep taking it off of them. If that doesn't work, they'll use their media to manipulate people to play the market.

Hedging shorts is so much harder, because then it has to be about perfect timing. You have to time it perfectly; due to the theta decay.

We still need to put in a bottom, so the bail out doesn't have as much significance. If we were to put in a double bottom in the S&P, it would just prolong the bottoming process...I'm looking for Dow 10,000 or lower, before we even think about, thinking about the word bottom.

Can't. Our politicians are in their pockets. Our corporate-owned media are in their pockets. Our dumbed-down education system is in their pockets. They have superior ability to manipulate markets. Short of everyone pulling out of the stock market and giving them the finger, I see no way to stop them.

thats my greatest fear that people just become indifferent and sell all the stocks and theyjust sit there for 20 years The market did nothing for long periods of time in the past. it was dead for 10yr spans . iwonder if that could happen again with all this computerized bullshit running stuff now
