Here is an easy to learn yet effective technique on how to defend against a choke hold. Watch 3rd Degree Black Belt Noel Gyro demonstrate a 2 finger push to thwart her attacker.

The clip is taken from Live To Tell About It, a 50-minute self-defense DVD designed especially for women. Gain confidence and empower yourself no matter where you are. Use these life-saving skills to stop unwelcome advances, physical assault, abduction, domestic violence, and more. There is no martial arts experience required, and as you learn each new move, you will discover a tremendous sense of empowerment you had no idea was waiting in store for you.

  • @alexoidztube Well-spoken and very respectful. I agree as another martial arts practitioner.

  • yea sure wtf is this shit. Im like 200 punds what you wanna do with those 2 skinny fingers with white long fingernails?

  • fuck your defence .drugs guyes got paper spary to your eyes. ki ki ki ki ki you think is jok if you defend your self from nife .one day you will get kiled is not 100 per cent to defend your self from knife. the beast way to help your self from knife. is to run away because to many peopel trianed to defence from knife. but get kiled if you difend your self from knif they will bring gun .dont beleave you teacher go away from problems .your teacher is paranoya

  • also you can break your fingers if your target moves.

  • If you gave a good punch in the throat thats very effective

  • I was just about to say that. a punch in the throat will work much better than two fingers

  • yep "rearrange their focus" as one instructor used to say! putting an aggressor in pain usually stops them, of course, in J J (like many martial arts) you use pain to make the aggressor go where you want them to so you can deliver a throw, strangle or well aimed strike.

Personally, it's great if someone grabs me in any way as it allows maximum opportunity to apply Ju Jitsu. Knowing key pressure points is also useful for very close up where you have time to use them.

  • yeah ur right but ofcourse the most effective is the ones that can't be ignored by mental... so give something that does mental pain one is kick to the groin another is ofcourse wrist locks... eye gouges, fish hooks something that would instantly and completely stop the person and you still either have the option to beat him or run away and get help... then beat him. :) but yeah your right. :)

  • Think what you like- but, if you'd like to take on the 8th dan instructor I had, you're welcome!

  • In a high speed fight, possibly. But in this instance, if someone is trying to strangle you- they have both their hands occupied- giving you the time needed. I'm not saying this is the no.1 technique- it's just a really simple one- and simple is good unless you're highly trained. I learnt at least 8 different ways to deal with just this strangle in Ju Jitsu. Keys or a lighter or a pen or a kubaton would add pressure and reach, of course- if they were handy.
