Interesting and insightful clip that describes embryos in their very early stages of being.

Also has a funny George W. Bush comment about halfway through ;)

  • Sorry Mr. Reeve [circa 2004], but my religion says YOU can't walk again... so FUCK YOU!...

(religion can go fuck itself, while it's not fucking an alterboy)

  • A group of Canadian patients just back from Noble have reported similar results. “I can actually see what I thought were long-dead muscles forming in my feet” said Larry Vermeersch of Kenora, Ontario. “My balance is back and I’m walking without a cane. I’m a pretty hard guy to convince, but getting these two procedures together has made me a believer. I’m looking forward to the physio ahead because I can feel everything coming back.” Log on to ccsviclinic. ca for more information.

  • @jstephenj Well, indeed I don't think that those that defend the human life from the very early stages agree with killing embryos from IVF. If it is so, then I agree that it is a hypocrite stance. If some couple decide to go through IVF and let's say that they have 5 embryos for implantation, then they should accept that all of them are implanted, even when they can end up having 5 children. Otherwise, they should not consider IVF and go through adoption as an alternative.

  • @inscara Invitrofertilization kills hundreds of thousands of embryos, since most of these embryos eventually decompose in cryo chambers on account that they are never implanted into willing hosts.

  • @inscara I'm personally for embryonic stem cell research because I would like to see cures for maladies like alzheimer's, spinal cord injury, MS, etc.. I understand the moral objections behind those who would prefer to remain entrenched in the Bronze Age, but if they're going to base their objections on respecting life, then I want to see consistency on their part.

  • @inscara I can aT LEAst respect that stance. But you do realize that many ardent prolifers have no such moral objections as it relates to invitrofertilization, which creates a surplus number of embryos that are eventually destroyed anyways. It is this inconsistency that irritates me most about the prolife movement on this issue. Either they're ignorant to the realities of IVF, or they're of the "I'm morally right" mindset.

  • @jstephenj I do not agree with killing human embryos in any case even if it is part of invitro-fertilization. First of all because is too invasive (I don't think that many people really realize to what they are exposed when they go through those treatments). Secondly, many people confuse being a parent with having a child. If you cannot have children, then there are so many children that needs to be adopted that you can fulfill your expectations by adopting a child.

  • @inscara Let's start then by doing away with invitro-fertilization, since the embryotic stem cell lines all come from these clinics. Why haven't those opposed to ESCR opposed to invitro-fertilization clinics, since the bulk of these embryos are eventually destroyed anyways?
