These plants and wildflowers were recorded in a wooded area and an adjacent park in mid-April in southern Ontario, Canada. The trilliums started blooming about 3 weeks earlier than normal this year.

Thanks to pattiwak5555, who has identified most of the plants featured in this video for me. They are, in order:

1. Narrow-leafed Spring Beauty (Claytonia virginica)
2. May Apple (Podophyllum peltatum)
3. Violet (uncertain about which kind)
4. Unknown...
5. Trillium (Trillium grandiflorum)
6. Marsh Marigold (Caltha palustris)
7. Siberian Squill (Scilla siberica)
8. Trout Lily (Erythronium americanum)
9. Blood Root (Sanguinaria canadensis)

The music track is Katmandu by Bela Fleck.

Watch in full screen, and the highest resolution your computer can handle. And remember, every time you leave a comment, another wildflower blooms.

Okay, I lied about that last bit, but please comment anyway.

  • nice color resolution

  • @drimcotcher Thank you :)

  • Thank you for showing all these beautiful flowers as well as the music , but to make it more useful, it would have been greta to either have a narrator or titles on the screen stating what I am looking at. I want to learn to identify herbs or flowers so that I may use them for medicine for myself and to help others

  • @Gauraonline Good idea, but when I made the video, I didn't know what most of the plants were. Their names were only added to the video description afterward.

    Thanks for watching!

  • My favorite Bela Fleck song and the video is PERFECT with it!!!! Thanks!

  • @jonesbabie Thank you! I love his music, and I plan to use another of his songs (The Over Grown Waltz) for a summer wildflower video that should be up in about a week.
