@ashketchum602 The mono format was the way that The Beatles preferred their music to be heard. In the case of mixing The Beatles albums, the band always mixed for mono first and were often involved in the preparation of these mixes while the stereo mix was basically an afterthought prepared by an engineer.
Many times this resulted in errors being present in the stereo mix that aren't in the mono mix such as John's vocal flub during "Please Please Me".

why would you want the mono box instead? id want them both but the stereo box has EVERY album the mono box dosent have all albums

I have the very first Beatles LP I ever bought, with the receipt dated 10/17/63 and it costs $1.95, bought in the PX in Heidelberg, Germany when I was 14. It now sounds so OLD and scratchy, but it has memories that, as great as the CDs are, they can never match.
and i want it now!
