I do compositing with a software called after effects, I shoot in sl with a frond of a blue screen, and I take off the blue in that software, and then I duplicate the avatar's layer, and reverse it, put it down and fill it in grey with some transparency to make the shadow.

I'm going in holiday today, but I might teach you when I get back ;))
