  • La voz más grandiosa que la tierra ha dado: Josep Carreras.

  • Please point to me about where I advocated a throaty production? Maybe you should be the one shutting up because you have an attitude problem, and cannot allow anyone to disagree with you? Indeed you start to access your head voice production once you go past the passagio but you still have to balance the sound with your chest to add dark timbre. There is a reason why Corelli's sound is drastically different, from say Juan Diego Florez. JDF is a leggiero but his high notes involve more headvoice

  • For God's sake! Shut up! You're getting ridiculous. Anything above the passaggio is essentially head voice! Considering the fact that Corelli was singing lyric and spinto roles, he "dancing" in his upper register a lot! You're also confusing a chesty and throaty sound (which is bad) with the chest voice which is related to one's lower and middle register.

  • I never said Corelli had a throaty production, but he definitely utilized more of his chest. When you sing, you produce your sound via chest (chest sound), or head (head voice). You are gonna tell me that Corelli utilized more of his head voice in his vocal production?

  • Corelli didn't have a chesty and throaty sound you genius! He was the best tenore spinto of the 20th century. He has a superbly virile, powerful and gorgeous spinto voice and an impeccable vocal range. You really need a clue!

  • Would you consider Corelli to be a poor vocal technician as well, since Corelli also produced a very chesty sound?

  • Carrera's vocal decline precedes his illness by about 7 years. The decline was because of his premature and wrongful choice of heavy repertoire which he couldn't handle because of his vocal limitations and technique. Be informed.

  • Idk about Carreras taking down his technique via poor technique. Maybe leukemia played a role?

  • You might like this rendition by Carreras. That's your own choice. But that doesn't make it superb.
