  • The rescue workers are all volunteers that

love to climb. are they also morons ?

  • "ignorent" is correctly spelled "ignorAnt"! LOL!

  • its not a "thrill", its a life or death situation. They are risking their own lives to bring someone home safely. Bashing people that are giving up their free time to save peoples lives is just ignorent.

  • We do this out of courage. We dont ask for monetary compensation. We dont ask for hand outs. We ask that those were looking for be found safe, and returned to their loved ones. If you were, just by chance out missing, and you were bashing us for being morons for risking our lives and putting our loved ones misery, well then..

  • Yes, you are correct. TREE PRUNING is especially dangerous, and should be banned. It is much more risky than climbing a treacherous mountain in the dead of winter!

  • Not really. Hundreds of people summit Mt Hood in the wintertime without incident. You want to stop all of those people from doing something because a handful of people need assistance from volunteers who are happy to assist them.

If you're going to call out risky behavior don't stop with mountaineering. Bicycling, hiking, motorcycle riding, tree pruning, driving, fishing, camping and many other activities need to be banned.

  • What a MORONIC, diversionary response! There is a difference between a home stairwell, a road, and a dangerous mountain that claims lives in the wintertime due to high risk. Get a clue!

  • Rescuers are volunteers. More people die falling down their stairs at their own homes. Should be ban stairwells? Roads? Food products linked to cancer?

  • Here we go again! A few idiots unecessarily risking their lives, and the lives of rescuers, for their own stupid thrills! They should have that mountain closed off to climbers during severe winter months, period!

  • This would only work in good weather - yes I realize that. Unfortunately the storms were relentless during this rescue attempt.
