  • Don't believe what they say about mayonnaise. I struggled for 3 hour and wasted numerous ingredients and this piece of junk still failed to produce mayonnaise. I resorted to making it by hand with a fork and jug in about 20 minutes.

  • @JuliaBalbilla Hey Sounds bad - first thing! Did you make sure that the eggs wasn't to cold right from the fridge? Oil, eggs and all ingredients needs to be at the same temperature. Then you have delicious mayo in few seconds. Did you check on the Youtube the technique when Ramsay makes his mayo? You will succeed all the best and good luck Kenneth

  • haha ... I'm just searching to see if Bamix as a company is still around, and what do I know?

I bought one of those around 1980 at a cooking fair ... works like clockwork!!!

    Serial number 8500024

They seem to have evolved though so I might upgrade and have the old one as a back up. : )

  • @aNdYmAtTeR Hey Thanks for your kind information. Yes Bamix is still there there stronger than ever, even the "lady", still 100% Swiss, turns 60 in few years. Enjoy all the best Kenneth

  • Love my Bamix, I use it virtually every day. BUT I still can not get it to whisk egg whites for meringues etc any tips.

  • Dear Mr Bamix.

I am a student and decided to make a durable choice when buying a blender.

It's a little over budget but I couldn't resist anway.

I made mayonaise for the firt time, and it's so easy!.It litteraly took 2 seconds!

Enthousiasticaly I proceeded to try and make some merengue. But the damn thing wont beat eggwhites ! I tried adding hot water, my eggs were definately room temperature, I made sure everything was clean... I tried like 3 times wasting 6 eggwhites and 125g of sugar.

    HELP

  • @JuliaBalbilla "INEPT!" "INEPT!" (Hey, this is fun!)

  • @HotVoodooWitch You have failed to answer my question, which just goes how inept you are. I asked if YOU has made with just egg yolks in second. I suspect not.

  • @JuliaBalbilla Well, considering that he did it and you can't, I'd have to term that ineptitude on your part. His upload didn't seem to include any trick photography.

  • @HotVoodooWitch Do not call me inept. Have you managed to make it in seconds using just egg yolks? If so, perhaps you'd like to explain how it is done. I have seen the video to which you refer and it is of no use whatsoever.

  • @JuliaBalbilla I suggest you have a look at "Making Mayonnaise, real easy with the Swiss Bamix" here on YouTube. And for that matter, most commercial mayo is made with whole eggs--not ideal, I'll grant you, but it's so. However, the upload I cited shows the Bamix making mayo ONLY with yolks. Clearly, you're screwing up somehow--don't bash a good product on the basis of your own ineptitude.
