  • About one hundred birds were caught and no injury or kill of a lure mammal. When is windy, rainy or too cold wheather, I use a small glass cube instead of cage.

  • In Europe and Africa areas the migrating birds are threatened on their migration routes. The places and type of threats are different and they are always on the increase. Knowledges (by ringing after catching) about migration birds and about changes in birds populations help to a strategy of species protection.I thing legal and illegal hunting and a trade with animals for holding in captivity is more dangerous. Less plentiful species are more demanded for this activity and it is fatal for them.

  • Soft springs, good solution of trigger - no problem.

  • the small animal used inside has no food or water or shade- same for the kestrel - this trap would be cruel to leave unattended .

  • @octobermonsters Average time of one catch is about five minutes. Then the Phodopus is usually removed from cage and hold inside car in special box with food, water and hide (wood shavings and so). The whole activity is for scientific purposes via banding trapped birds.
