I have had my unit for 14 months in northern VA (replaced 21 yr old unit). My house is 100% electric with a heat pump. I have only saved 200 kWh total over 13 months. Also, just before Christmas, the heat pump on the unit failed. I still await the replacement parts while the unit runs in strict electric mode but I am hopeful that the unit will run better (re: more efficient) after the repair as folks have reported quieter running post repair. I will keep you posted.
@mg20112 Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the Geospring. I suspect, unless your HWH is subjected to cold temps (ie, <45deg F) year round, that something was wrong with it from the beginning. I think you'll see an improvement after the repair. I'm still seeing close to 300kwh comparing to last years bills for the same month. Let us know, and good luck.
