Sierra Leone lies on the coast of West Africa bordering Guinea and Liberia. It has a population of approximately 5 million, of whom 48% (around 2.7 million) are children. The country has suffered from more than a decade of war, something which garnered widespread international headlines due the atrocities committed by rebel soldiers, many not yet in their teens. Now some ten years later these rebels and the civilian population have rebuilt their lives. To the foreign eye what may seem fragmented and chaotic is upon closer inspection a sophisticated kaleidoscope in which life is celebrated in every moment.

This is Part 2 in a series on the recovery of Sierra Leone. In this episode we talk with Cathy Berti and Levi Ronjoh. They are living in Bure Town 30 kilometers from Freetown the capital city. Much of the infrastructure of the country is still inadequate. Cathy shares with us her thoughts on how Cultural exchange can help to re-shape the country and give it some much needed emotional support.
