1992 Acura Legend "Airbags" - August 9, 1992 - Commercial

A 1992 Summer Olympics commercial spot from Acura for the 1992 Legend sedan with dual front airbags. The Acura Legend was the first Japanese car to have a standard driver's airbag in Fall 1988 and passenger airbags in Fall 1990(L-1991, all-1992). As much as I like Lexus, they didn't offer until Fall 1992 neither did Infiniti(another favorite) till Fall 1993.

@eightbit3055 In severe crashes, airbags provide lifesaving benefits, dramatically cutting down the risk of head and neck injury. The softer airbag "absorbs" energy. As for more minor accidents, airbags can cause problems. Some cars have less aggressive airbags than others, and these airbags will cause fewer problems. As for your 2007 Impala, it appears that airbag will pose some inflation injury risk if you are closer than 13" from the wheel. Airbags must inflate with a lot of force to protect.

@whattheheck1000 I was driving a 2007 impala. AIRBAGS are not a safety feature and we must have the option to take them out for those who know how dangerous they are. Have you ever been hit by an airbag because if not you don't have a say in this.

@eightbit3055 Not necessarily - airbags in pre 1998 cars are more aggressive than those in newer cars. "Advanced" airbags, found in all 2007 and newer cars and some 2003-2006 cars, cut down your risk even more.

The only reason I went to the hospital after my accident was because of the stupid AIRBAGS. They should be illegal to put in vehicles!
