I am a Yoruba, and I was amazed looking through carnival videos of various carribean countries,there were certain instruments, I saw the young men playng, that almost brought tears to my eyes; the Huge percussion drum, even the talking drum,"culture is what defines a people, without it, they are lost forever.That is the dilema our African -American brothers are facing.This is why I have a tremendous respect for Guadeloupean people...

Eugene, wonderful educational video, I am from Nigeria, I would like to find out wether children in Guadeloupe are tough English, because language is a powerful form of resistance.....

Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your comment. The people in Guadeloupe just like in Haiti speak KWEYOL which is a fusion of african languages and french. The official language is French, yet english is being spoken more and more by the youth nowadays.
