Liturgy of St John Chrysostom in Holy Orthodox Church. Priest celebrates the Liturgy in Englsih and the choir responds in Church-slavonic language. The video is taken a few years ago in one of the Serbian Orthodox Churches in Chicago area, the United States. Canon of the Holy Eucharist is the most essential part of Liturgy in the Orthodox Church. Serbian Orthodox Church in the US uses Englsih, Church-slavonic, and Serbian language in Church services and prayers.

  • I really don't think your comment is worth responding. There were no bad intentions recording the most holiest part of the Liturgy whatsoever. In the early Church there were no any doors that separated altar from the people. During the Bright week ALL doors of the altar are opened. Regarding posting it on internet, there are many different ways of conveying God's message, and internet is one of them. All in all, your comment reminds me of 21st century iconoclast.

  • I understand your point and in a way agree with you. But there is one thing which bothers me: I think that no layman has the right to tell a priest how to celebrate the liturgy. That's simply disrespectful! If something bothers you, go to the priest and talk about it. If this doesn't help, go to other priests or even the bishop. It's nothing that has to be put into public or the internet. Also "the old patriarch is to weak" is very disrespectful towards the patriarch...

  • is it a part of Russian Orthodox Church?

  • @Joasia9

    considering papism --->

    well if you know anything about the Roman Rite you would know that ad orientem has never been abolished but that it isn't practiced by majority of the clergy...

  • Catholicism is the Mass and the Sacraments. The Mass was destroyed in 1962 and the required Sacramental Form was destroyed in 1944. Sorry, it's over. The Church is in a state of auto-demolition as Paul VI stated in 1968. Of course it looks legitimate, but that's how Lucifer wants it. If you want the ability to stand when the punishment comes, know enough about your religion to know the names of the Trinity.

    The stunning evidence is on FATIMAMOVEMENT d o t c o m

    Rome has until Aug. 17, 2011

  • And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God? It is like LEAVEN, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

    Luke 13:21

  • @mburns8395 I agree, but I was aiming the comment at those who think anything Roman is better than from the East.

  • @burkardhanis I attend a Traditional Latin Mass the real catholic mass. The NO is a mess, and this is meuch better.

  • @orrycat Leaven was only ever called wicked by Yeshua! "Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod." (Mark 8:15). the Parable you were referring to is in no relation to the L-RD's Table!

  • @orrycat Don't feed my that bullshit! Yeshua used Matzah, it was Passover, according to 1 Cor. 5:6-8 we are to be unleavened. also Yeshua (Jesus), told us to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees! Leaven equates to wickedness, you're telling me the Kingdom is Wicked?!
