Monk Flawless solo of Avatar Prime Leviathan

Entire solo fight as Monk75/RDM37 by Genome on FFXI-Diabolos server.

People tend to assume that you need to be RDM or have /nin to solo avatar prime fights.

I have seen some videos of monks semi-solo easy avatars like Ifrit but it always looked like a close call, using their 2hrs etc.

So to make things more interesting I am showing an example of a harder avatar fight won without using any JAs or 2hr special abilities, without items and won without using ninja subjob, and still won with full HP at the end.
And to make things even more challenging this is done without using punches as monk but just using staff.

You can see from this video how important it is to have good base stats and great defensive equipment like gods gear (osode etc) especially when you compare it to something like PUPs soloing these and needing to rely on their puppets casting cure5s on them over and over.

Not wearing it at the same time. I swap in and out the pieces that are most useful, for example osode for MP and both atk and defensive stats (against avatars even the MND and INT help), genbu for water resist against leviathan, suzaku for fire resist against ifrit, etc.

That's because I said full HP (with an H, not an M).

MP is even easier to get, it just takes a single WS to fill it up, so it wouldn't have been very interesting.

Regardless, both depend also on gear swaps, If I swap between gear to add elemental resist before a TP move for example I might lose a small amount of MP/HP, but both of those are quickly restored anyways, which is the point of showing why this fight is easy as monk.

Yea, I solo like this cept im to lazy to lv rdm so when I get that 37 im gonna try this out, Its usually just DC mobs in Upper Delfukts. I know I still need some gear like Fast cast earring and boxers but i appreciate how dedicated you are to MNK, gives me someone to look up to, instead of just being jealous of the MNKs gear im jealous of you're intelligence lol. Good stuff!
