Forgive my last comment. Upon my third viewing of this DVD, I can see now that I was comparing this concert to her Drowned World DVD. Not fair. Apples and oranges. She is always in a state of flux. Ever changing. I should know better than to look at her and expect to see the same artist as the last time I looked. If there be a stasis to Madonna, it is in her genius. Always there. Always for us, her devoted audience.

Equis meets Saturday Night Fever meets Project Runway: We've all seen M "bring it" on stage and when she does, she rules the fucking universe. She didn't bring it to the London DVD concert. All she brought that night was expensive sets, great dancers, an excellent support crew....and a chick decked by JBG who sings pretty good, dances well, and looks great for her age.
Madonna, I love you sweaty, I love you disheveled, while rocking the living shit out of your music. Maybe next time.

I agree. The official video release of this concert tour relied heavily on visual effects. I heard it was intentional. It won the Grammy Award for Best Long Form Video, and it amplified the effects of some of the song numbers, but I wish they released another version -- one that's been recorded the same way most of her previous concerts were, so we can focus more on the show.
