Peonys are wonderful blowsy red flowers that herald the start of summer. This is the very last one from the garden, but it opened beautifully. You only really get one chance to get it right each year. The interesting thing about this sequence is the minute insects that roam around on the leaves. Don't know what they are, but if you look carefully you will see them rushing all over the place.

Photographed using a Nikon D1x and Studio lighting over a period of about three days.
