I have no words - Dmitri Hvorostovsky is the best baritone of this era, no for ever.
His voice is incredible, his technique is phenomenal, his influence can't be explained by words.
I live a life as a singer and speaker and teacher. But his voice is far away from everything I've ever heard and experienced.

Borodin's "Prince Igor". There's another, longer video with Dmitri Hvor. singing this piece and more, 8 min. of his majestic interpretation and wonderful voice.

Hvorostovsky is baritone singer, not tenor.
This is simply magical. Undoubtedly the finest baritone of the century, if not ever. Bravo Dima, bravo!

I can guarantee that he is even more magnificent in real life. I saw the Netcast of Eugene Oneigin, and then saw him live twice in the same opera. The voice, the presence, the scene where he is undressed on stage--all very entrancing. And that Russian passion!! One of several fabulous baritones singing right now. Don't miss him.
